I never tried Auto Bracket (in the Drive Mode) in the 2+ years I've had my K200D, but yesterday tried it on a hike. Most of my pictures were shot next to a snowmelt-swollen river, so the roar was very loud. I thought I heard an odd sound when shooting with Auto Bracket, but the river roar was so loud I couldn't be sure. I then forgot about it till this morning when I was taking pictures of birds outside the window (quiet conditions). There definitely was an unusual sound. I swapped lenses away from my new telephoto, thinking it could possibly be a problem with the lens, but the sound was still present.
Description: The shutter releases, sounding normal, then a very brief nanopause, then a rubbing sound. Seems to come from the prism area of the camera, but I can't be sure. I wondered if the mirror was sticking. OH NO, is my beloved K200D on its last legs?
I brooded about it for a few minutes and then decided to shut off the Auto Bracket and return to my usual Single Frame Shooting. The rubbing sound disappeared.
Anyone have any idea what I was hearing? More importantly, is this something I should be concerned about? I'd love an excuse to accelerate my purchase of a K5, but I would hope my K200D still has a lot of life left in it.
