auto Sears m42 lens on K10D

Hi all,
I am getting some M42 lens to use with my K10D, using Pentax adapter.
Ran into a problem with the above mentioned Sears auto 60-300 f4-5.6 m42 lens,
as the aperture stays at 4. There is NO auto/manual switch (not like the Vivitar
28mm f2.5 I have).
Remove the lens from camera, it turns out that if I push the pin at the end of the
lens, rotating the aperture ring, the lens aperture changes.

So the question is, that if any of you are using the auto (auto-only) M42 lens with
K10D, and if you have any solution to fix the max-aperture-only problem.

Thanks in advance.

Is there anyway you can tape the pin down? I've never used an auto only m42 lens.
Good luck,
Eric

Thanks Eric. I'll find some duct-tape and give it a try.
