Weathproofing/Dust seals!

Went to a party tonight and had beer spilled all over me and the camera. The camera will be allright but I have to check in the morning to see if my 50 1.4 is pooched. I don't think the FA lenses are sealed. Right?

I have heard of cleaning equipment with alcohol...but i think this is a bit excessive !

Seriously though I dont think the lens has any "beer-sealing". It might also provide a food source for fungus. I would send it to someone who can take it apart and clean it.

I remember spilling coca cola over my MX years ago.....the frame advance is still sticky.

If it was water, than I think you would be okay. But Cola and beer is another matter

Recommendation; Take the lens and clean it up as best you can and then take it to a shop and have it taken apart and cleaned and then send the bill to the person who spilled the beer on it.
Even water can give fungus a chance to grow if it isn't cleaned right.
