As a second shooter, you should consider a zoom in the range of the 50-135 or zoom with your feet shooting with a 70-135mm prime lens. At least f/2.8 is required for weddings, no question. Lighting should be fine with the Metz, if you can bounce it off walls. A Gary Fong adapter is fine - be weary of flash battery life in those instances - you'll need a few spares...
