There's little downside to getting screwmount lenses. They take terrific photos. But there are a few caveats:

First, you need a screw-mount adapter, and not all are made equal. Some of them have a flange that slightly increases the distance between the lens and the body which means that the lens would not be able to focus to infinity. Buy the adapter carefully.

Second, be sure the lens is in good condition.

Third, getting the lens off the camera is more time-consuming than with bayonet-mount lenses. It a two-step process: Unscrew the lens, then remove the adapter from the camera body. The second part requires using a fingernail to release a spring clip, and it can be annoying if you expect to be able to do it quickly.

Fourth, the lens will work only in Av mode or Manual Mode. This take a little pratice to be comfortable with.

The Pentax manufactured one. Difficult to find, but worth the search. Old ones came in a white box with red print, newer ones come in a greenish plastic zip-lock bag.
