K20 asking for F stop

I'm trying to use an older pentax macro lens with 2x converter on the used K20 I just got. the top display is flashing for f stop. How do I tell the camera what f stop I have the lens set on, and what mode should I use. The manual that came with the camera is in french. thanks for any advice.

First: PDF Manual

Set "Allow using aperture ring" or something like that. P.50, 75 and 251 in PDF manual (Custom settings), then use the lens and converter in M mode, if a K or M mount lens and adapter, or in M or Av mode if a M42 (screw mount) lens + adapter.

In M mode, press the green button to measure light and let the camera set "correct" aperture and time, then focus and fire.
