This is definitely dust. I have just spent well over 30mins cleaning my sensor with both the sensor shake and a rocket blower. Like you, I could see nothing on the dust check, but it was there in the images.

Patience is all that's required.

the 'shake' thing ...

hi all

thanks everyone for their invaluable feedback on this topic.

a question:

do you think the shake sensor feature (on this or any other digital camera) is a good idea after all, especially if used a lot?

not that i'm not happy it's there and why not use it once in a while too but what i mean is, wouldn't repeated actions like that, damage the sensor itself or other camera parts?

just a thought / worry of a kind coming from a more or less picky person ...

The dust removal feature is not going to hurt anything. They wouldn't put an option in that would damage the camera.
