Got my K-X yesterday, yay!

Slapped a Pentax K 55/f1.8 on it and did my first small DOF shot. Fun fun!~ (Snapped in manual mode with stop down metering and I also like how it beeps when it's in focus on manual lenses!) I am going to get some nice shots of the food I cook with this lens & camera!

I am wondering if I should sell my Pentax-M 50/f1.4 now.

Congrats on getting your K-x. You got a pink one if I recall, right? I'd keep your 1.4 in case you need a low light lens. Now go out and shoot and show us some pics

Just keep shooting - you can only get better with practice.
Contrast issues will be obvious when you're in harsh lighting conditions that have strong highlights and shadow areas in the scene.
Keep learning about light and your exposure triad - you'll get there.

Played around with the flash and made a diffuser with semi transparrent/white 35mm film canister. It worked pretty well. Pic snapped with K-X & K55/f1.8 @ f1.8:
