another trip kit thread

Well folks, had the surgery and recovering rapidly. The trip is rapidly approaching so its time to have a serious look at the trip kit on a quiet Sunday morning (yes, I've had enough of this 'taking it easy' stuff).
First the trip: 6 days in Beijing on our way to a week in Hong Kong with grandson. Grandson and family also joining us in Beijing.

The kit: (Me): Tamrac Velocity 8X sling bag;*ist DS; Tamron 70-300; Sigma EX DG 24mm...maybe Pentax 18-55.
(wife): Pentax shoulder bag (doubles as her handbag, looks like one); *istDL; Sigma 18-125.

Plus a circ pol filter & ND filter & step ring, enough SD cards to start our own store, monopod, lightweight tripod.

Lenses staying home: Sigma 135-400; Pentax DFA 100mm

Interestingly Anne always had the Pentax 18-55 on her DL, but when messing around recently she put the 18-125 on it and declared that she wanted that one! (longer reach).
So the thinking is that I will probably keep the Tamron on the DS, but will tuck the 18-55 away in the bottom of the bag....just in case. The 24mm is there for night scenes and while its a bit bulky, it serves the purpose.
I would like to take the DFA 100, but don't really see the need.

Of course this means I will get near Mongkok and Stanley St camera stores so I need you all to give me strength in not buying anything.........that I don't need

Cheers

Great to see you are recovering well Grant. Just be carefull you dont catch it in a wrong way movement. Couldnt you stick the 135-400 in Anne's handbag lol. Could come in handy heehee. No, i understand. It is a big lens. I thank you again for letting me try it out. Blew me away. Looking forward to seeing some more of your fantastic holiday shots. Cheers. Keith

Hope you & Anne have a good trip, I'm sure you will.

You & Anne really need to get a 50/1.4 (or 43/1.9) and the 77/1.8 if you are going to be successful in taking good pictures of Oscar. I've learned this from chasing my young ones around with a camera. But it will be worth it once you get the pictures enlarged and framed!
