It's not even a Pentax - It's a Minolta, an it looks like an X-11 or XD11 or something along those lines.

not a Pentax.. embarrassed.. but Thanks!

I really like the style, the silver top and retro shape, except it's indeed from old times.

I would love a DSLR of the look, shape, and feel of the old Film SLR's. I'm not sure if you could fit all the electronics, batteries, and motors that need to be in a Pentax DSLR into a small package like that, but if they could, I'd be all over it.

In the meantime, old film SLR's like that are cheap. I'm trying to pick up film at the moment and it's challenging but I'm hoping it pays off.

No, not a dslr. The model appears to be an older girl or a young woman.

I don't think there was a Minolta X-11 -
the XD-11 hadn't yet moved over to the newer Minolta logo with that stylized "O" (somewhat like the AT&T logo)

here's an attempt at an enlargement/enhancement of a crop of that SLR:

It's not possible to read the model number over the right hand -
but it kind of looks like this SLR -

this image is copyright Dennis Tsang 2006 -
I am posting a resized image for the convenience of readers -
and not hotlinking/leeching his image.

FWIW - that film SLR was probably in the Minolta X-700/570/370 (or 500/300) series.
and probably more information than anyone wants to know:
Minolta X-700 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PS - I'd like to know more details of the model.... (as in female )

It's more likely an X-370, though it wouldn't surprise me if it was an X-700

Minolta X-370, most likely... It looks like it has the thumbwheel style shutter speed dial, which is unique to that model. the 570 & 700 had the conventional knob.

Later, they came out with a X-370n, which had a plastic body, and was kind of crappily built, but took good photos.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

XD11? How dare you? That was a refined, classy model with an electronically controlled vertical travel metal bladed shutter.

The X-370 was an el cheapo model with a horizontal cloth shutter.
