I don't know whether it has or hasn't, I haven't been on here long enough to know, I just thought since it's still featured on Pentax USA's site, and it's fairly new (2009 isn't that old, the EOS 7D came out then, and it's still very much in the limelight) it should be on here. Thanks for the group tip, I'll have to check it out.

What will happen to the dedicated forums once the models are no longer current? Are their posts going to be merged back into this forum?
Good question, it seems to me that most Pentax cameras should have their own forum, or would that be too bandwidth intensive?

I would love to see a K7 forum! K5 is still not sold at Henry's, the largest Photo store in Ontario, Canada. (Toronto for those who have not heard of our Province) Just saying......

The k-7 isn't a current model; the dedicated forums are only for the current models. For all other cameras, use this section.
Guess the K-r and K-5 forums will, or should go away as soon as they are out of production then....

Cool!

Yeah, but neither is Pentax as a brand, at least here in the US, where Canon and Nikon rule the roost.

Good point, I mean the K-7 only came out in 2009, the same year as the EOS 7D, but it doesn't seem to be cast by the wayside just because it's 2 years old. Now, as far as computers go 2 years is old, but not for camera's, at least I keep mine longer than that. If it's a matter of bandwidth, I can understand that, but I think the site would survive having another dedicated forum for the K-7.

I like organization, having a dedicated forum for the K-7 will make it easier to find information on the camera rather than having to weed through all the other stuff. I think specific forums should be created for all the cameras, or at the very least the more popular ones.

I would have thought it would be based on popularity and not on what is a current model or not. The k-7 and the k-x certainly still seem popular and have large followings. The "identity" seems to be already there instead of having them grouped in "other stuff".

Is there a reason why there is no dedicated forum for the K-7? I see the K-5 and K-r have one, it just struck me as odd the K-7 doesn't have one too.
And if you think about it, some of the topics are not really all that specific to one camera and exclude others. Some of the same topics created in the "K-5" sub menu also apply to a few other Pentax camera models and of course some redundant topics appear.

I would check in on a K7 forum, if for nothing else than just to see how my fellow K7 owners are fairing.
A fine camera in it`s own right BTW.
