I wrote an article

I've written an article on the history of the SLR, as I felt that it would be nice for non-Pentax users to at least know that Pentax was responsible for so many of the things that come standard on modern SLRs (getting a few converts would be an added bonus ).

The article has been published on the B&H insights blog. I hope you enjoy the read and I am looking forward to your comments!

Hi, thanks. It was interesting read. I haven't heard about Duflex before. I thought the Rectaflex was the very first 35mm SLR.

Great concise article

Very informative article. I did not know that they were the first to have autofocus (even though it was a not a success) and first built in flash.

Surely you mean the 35mm SLR and subsequent developments. There were large format SLRs in production in the 19th century - check out Graflexes among others.

Nice article, Adam. Even saw this linked on the Texas Photo Forum, which is rife with Canon and Nikon users.
