K-7 HDR mode shot of a scope

I just used HDR strong mode on my K-7 with 10-24mm Tamron of my Orion EON 72 scope with Televue 21mm Ethos eyepiece and some with my 31mm Axiom LX. Here is the 21mm Ethos in HDR mode and 31mm Axiom LX in normal aperture priority mode and HDR strong mode:

Fine images of some seriously massive eyepieces! Must be fun counterbalancing those beasts, even more fun making use of them!
Rather sad though no shots of Pentax eyepieces? I really like my XW 14mm.

The 12" Hercules fork mount has no problem with the 3 lb 31mm Axiom LX on the 72 EON but your right, I should put my 40mm Pentax XW on it. I have a bunch of Pentax eyepieces, here is a pair of 20mm XW eyepieces in binoviewer and 40mm XW in my C9.25:

Here is a shot I just took of a balancing platform that I could use to reach balance if I can't do it in the normal position.

BTW the 12" fork mount is used mostly with my big binoculars.

wow that looks great. How does it compare in image quality to say a sigma 500mm lens liken from a superzoom as 170-500/150-500/50-500?

You can set the apperture? Just working in either manual or Av-modus and stop-down metering? It is nice to have 1000mm on some occasions.

All of the scopes have a fixed aperture just like my 500mm F6.3 and 800mm F8 mirror lenses. My longest zoom is only 300mm (28-300mm).

800mm F8 :

What's that tripod head with the two handles on it under your Apex scope? I've been looking for a decent alt/az head to double for camera/scope use and that looks like it would be pretty good.

Have you tried using a gimbal head yet?

Lastly, it's good to see that Apex getting used, I have a SVP 127 that's waiting for just that kind of purpose. How is the edge clarity when you don't use the focal reducer?

It is a Manfrotto 475 Tripod with 501 Fluid Head that works well with my smallest scope (EON 72 ED ) and large eyepice like the 21mm Ethos.
