K10D arrives

Spent the Christmas bonus on a K10D with 18-55 kit lens. Wow, what a camera. There is a steep learning curve here. First shot with 31 Limited.

Nice start. Its a great camera but when you get the hang of it its a doddle to use.

after using my wife's k100 and switching to the new k10, you are right, there is a steep learning curve.

While waiting for my order to be placed, (my contact at Pentax was on vacation) I downloaded the pdf file of the manual. Hopefully I'll have a jump on that curve.

I'm also getting the 10-17 fisheye. anyone care to comment on that lens?

Oh, camera to arrive in next two weeks.

Thanks for the compliment. I like different shots and compositions. The shot was taken with 31 Limited at F8 at 30 seconds on a tripod with mirror lock up on JPEG & RAW setting at ISO100 with camera noise reduction turned on (but none used in post processing). The focus point was the right edge of the concrete that the graffiti is painted on. Camera was on AWB and I used the Pentax wired release to fire the camera. This shot is the JPEG one. Haven't figured out how to convert a RAW yet with Pentax software (except in camera).
Was a little worried about K10D noise on time exposures. Taking lots of low light shots this is important to me. Sharpshoota's shot of the bridge at night showed me it would be fine.
This is the first web shot that comes out looking similar to the original. Thanks to all the folks here that gave tips on how to do the post processing.
thanks
