K10D and Grip

I just purchased the grip for the K10D

I have connected the grip to the camera, and turn on both camera and grip.
when using the the button on the grip it will focus but will not take a photo.

This of course doesn't happen when I use the button on the camera.

The settings are P and AF-S

Have I missed something, I had a look through the grip and camera manuals and can't find anything

I have changed the camera to use the grip battery first.

Many thanks in advance

Don't worry

I disconnted the grip from the camera, and put it back on.

Guess what it now works.

Thanks anyway

Things that go "bump" in the night. Go figure.

There might have been a spec of trash on one of the contact points between the grip and camera.
