k10d remote assistance?

I'm not familiar with this program whatsoever; Is the computer suppose to display a live view through camera lens? I can fiddle with the camera's settings and such on the remote assistance program, but i'm only getting a blank white display where i'm assuming should have a live picture?

K10D does not have live view on the LCD.

how about display of the photo after it has been taken?

Remote assistant is not a live view,when you plug your cable,open remote assistant and you can see all your information about your camera,take a pic and it supose to appear in the window in your screen not your camera then click save or delete and your ready for another one.

okay, not sure what the problem is here.

I'm trying to use the remote assistant 3 program to shoot tethered to my laptop.

When i connect my camera to the laptop then turn it on, it is in PC mode. Then I open assistant program, and nothing.... i'm not able to take a picture.

If I try opening the program first then turning on the camera it doesn't work either ???

Any help would be great!!

Never mind ! It was Vista - run as admin and that fixed it !! Thanks to a post in a older older thread...

Just wanted to mention as well I am using firmware 1.3 as well !

I know the k20d has a live feed through the lcd but does the remote assistance support this?

Remote Assistant only works - at least should work - on 32-bits PC's !

O, I overlooked an older solution here, which is NOT in the Remote Assistant's manual btw! I should have started the program as an administrator. How could I think that Pentax has been stupid and not me!!!!
