Autofocus lamp assist

I guess I should of bought the K-R (I went with the K-X cause of slightly better image quality in lower light situations, and cause it was less money). But turns out the K-R has a dedicated lamp for autofocusing in low light situations. The K-X uses the pop up flash to send pulses. This is a problem for me because I have a wireless trigger in the hot shoe of the k-x and can't use this feature.

Is there a hot shoe mountable flashlight I can buy that runs off AAA? That way I can just put it in the cactus v5 trigger hot shoe and turn it on.

I don't think its much of a problem. just carry a handheld small LED flashlight, shine it on your subject and focus in that area. Even more convenient is a small LED headlamp such as hikers use. With that on your head, you can put some light on the subject with your head and still have both hands available to operate the camera. The flashlight or headlamp also does duty if you are in dim areas and need the light to find stuff in your bag, operate the camera, or find your way back to the car. I ALWAYS carry a small flashlight in my camera bag and have used it at times to focus with.

best wishes,
