Image read the Pentax K10D

Hallo an alle,

The 111 is a folder name, created by the camera automatically.

The number 8557 sounds like a file name of the image. Usually, this is approximately the number shutter actuations. However, the file number can be reset, so it is not guaranteed to be an accurate shutter count.

The camera DOES keep an internal count that can never be reset. This is stored in the EXIF data for every image you take.

GP1806 is right. A downloadable program like PHOTOME will display the EXIF data, including the shutter count. There are other programs for this purpose, as well. I personally like EXIFTOOLS, which is also free. It is a command-line utility, whereas PHOTOME is a Windows GUI program.

Just run PHOTOME or EXIFTOOLS against the most recent picture you have taken. It will show the shutter count, along with a lot of other data.
