Well Firmwarefixes wil always be around. For K-5 we also want 100 new things implemented in firmware.

In which way clean? If you are referring to sensorstains then you are riding a very old pony (long on it's way to the butcher)!

On other threads here dealing with the Ricoh buyout, you will find explanations of why Ricoh isn't Sony and Pentax isn't Minolta and the circumstances are entirely different. Konica-Minolta sold its camera-making operations to Sony, not the Minolta name. The Sony name was and is much much bigger than the Minolta name. Ricoh and Konica-Minolta are both copier+printer companies with now-distant histories in photography, but Ricoh sees Pentax as a way to be a major player in the surging dSLR market -- destroying Pentax would be insane. With copier sales dropping, Konica may rather regret selling Minolta.

Is Ricoh going to keep al the different systems? 645D, K-mount, Q-mount, GXR-lensors, maybe even a new large sensor evil, roboust shockproof camera P&S, hi-end compacts and everyday P&S camera's. That is a lot and all of them have farely small salesnumbers.

I'm still waiting for the F69D, a 6x9cm folder with Teflon bellows, swappable lensboards with full auto-controlled movements, and a 250mpx sensor. Then I'll be happy. And broke.

You know they are releasing the Stereoscopic version - the F69D-3D - a month after whenever you buy yours ?

and about 2 months later it will turn to obsolesence as the new K-LZ-1 is released
It will transmit a 3d hologram into the air that will then be turned into a full fledged sculpture

But will the price drop then? It's like when I built my first microcomputer, a HeathKit H8 system I soldered together in 1980. The stock memory board was 16k of RAM. I bought a 3rd-party 64K board for US$800!! so I could run CP/M. And a month later, the 3rd-party had an 80K board for US$600, and the 64K board was down to US$400! P!ssed me off...

Yes - but a delay in manufacturing due to a problem that surfaces shortly after release with the in built inter-axial settings processor causes wide spread panic amongst forum posters, so there is continued demand for the older model... Prices take some time to drop as a result...

Over 15 years later, the cartoon is still accurate

lolol

well i have used my F-4 and D90s since they came out.. I ecpect to hopfully use my new K-5 as long.. since camera's have gone the way of tech,,, they will now be as "puters.... as far as old as new.. lol tech-spec wise.. but what takes a film quality pic now will always until actually broken so I buy more music equiptment instead of always needing the newest camera...

It will probably take 1.5 years+ for any change of direction from Pentax under Ricoh to materialise. Anything you'll see in the next year or so from Pentax is already decided upon...
