split-image focusing screen: Huge Difference on K20D and K10D

I used to have the Jingfinance splict-image screen installed on a K10D. It worked well as expected. The lower half gets dark after f/5.6 under low light. Outside in the daylight, there is no darkness even at f/16.

Well today I put the screen in my K20D. WTH, I couldn't believe my eyes. The screen is ALWAYS BRIGHT even at f/16 under low light condition. This never happened before. I changed several lenses and tested both indoor and outdoor. It's just like that.

Now I can happily take the K20D with Sigma mini-wide II anywhere. Well I just don't know how to explain it.

Sometimes it's best just not to question things. Just be glad they work

Well, since the lenses and the screen are the same, the only explanation that I can think of is that the K10 loses more light between those two points than the K20. Mirror? Prism box?
