K100D and the AF330 flash

The other day I tried my AF330 flash with my K100 and it did not go well. I know the K100 does not support TTL so I placed the AF300 in manual mode and A.Zoom. The flash did pretty good as long as I kept the ISO at 200 and F8. It appeared to compensate for different distances and background colors. If I changed the ISO or the F stop the flash would not compensate.

Is there a way to get the AF330 to work better with the K100?

Has anyone used the AF360 with the K100? If so what are you thoughts with that flash?
