Pentax Full Frame Poll

A poll about wheater you think that Ricoh will descide to launch a Full Frame K-mount camera on the coming PhotoKina in september 2012.

This is not about you personal interest in such a camera, like it or not, buy it or not, all off no interest.

This is about in wich way Ricoh would like to set Pentax in the market of photography. The camera, offcourse a top of the line camera would be in production for 3 to 4 years. So no worry's about short term sales.

Vote yes. If ricoh reads this enough times, it may turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy .

I don't think so about FF. You see 645D's senor is big and 40 meg.
I think Pentax FF and 60 meg will be $20,000 to $30,000.
? FF sensor is smaller than 645D's

All I can say is that I want a camera between the K5 and 645D. FF seems to fill that notch. If there isn't going to be something in between, why did Ricoh bother? My guess is that Ricoh wants to make a stamp of something that is "theirs". I think it will be whatever comes in the middle of the K5 and 645D and the quickest way to make a splash is with something FF since there are sensors around and the MZ-D has been seen as the K-1.

It might not be a FF, but there will be something in between the K5 and 645D to give Ricoh some cred.

While I'd love to see one, I don't see the market sense. Image quality of the K-5 class is a good for practical purposes as FF, so benefit is primarily use of lenses made for FF; and Pentax doesn't have many in the current line. So that would spread their R&E thin trying to support APS, FF, 645 lines. Perhaps they would push the 645 line downwards to close the gap in the range instead.

If Pentax would introduce FF camera like Sony A900 few years ago when Sony did, would it fail as badly as Sony did? Would it sink the company like N digital sank the Contax? I think it would.

I'd buy a Pentax FF. Having a FA31 & FA77 I'd rather they operated with the FOV they were designed for.

Well that's the reason why I would welcome if FF is announced by Pentax at some point. But in the same time I have to say: should it be announced next year, I doubt I'll have budget to buy it. So honestly I'll be happy using my fullframe lenses on APS-C for next few years and better work on my 'photographic skills'.

There are many owners of Pentax FF lenses. I think that all users of FA limiteds would be tempted by FF
