Shutter Life

Hi, I was reading around""" and a question emerge""""
1) What is the shutter life for a pentax K100D?
2) It is something I should worry about?
3) The Point-and-shot cameras had a limited shutter life as DSLR?
4) Can I do something to prevent the shutter dead?
5) Is it replaceable? for a low cost (I mean if is too expensive is better to buy a new camera?!?!)

Thanks for your answers!!!

I think it's meant to be around 30,000 actions, but there are *ist series cameras pusing 100,000+ so I wouldn't worry. My K10D has hit 11,000 in 6-months, lol.

I'm pretty close to 30,000 with my K100D now. If it's going to pack it in I hope that it does so while it's still under warranty

Another goof-ball number from statistics with no practical meaning for the average user---unless that user has thousands of camera bodies. I just wore-out a ZX-10 shutter last year--guessing about 250,000 shots. It had sentimental value, so I got it fixed---that cost was 3X the cameras actual value. The moral of the story: put money aside for eventual replacement; nothing lasts forever; shoot what you got like you own it.
