Control your DSLR shooting from your Android phone app

[Android 2.3.4/3.0][04.08.2011] DSLR Controller v0.5 BETA [USB HOST REQUIRED] - xda-developers

Saw this on XDA today. I think this would be great if they added support for Pentax cameras. Youtube video below

Awesome. Now make a version for the iPhone and Pentax and I'd use the hell out of that.

The issue is the device has to support USB Host. ipads and iphones definately don't, i think that samsung phone is the only phone that does and some android tablets do also.

Its the same reason, why you can't connect a USB HDD to any thing and read the drive.

Then you ain't using android it seems.
Android 3 and 4 has host support and all tablets running those OS accept USB drives if they have USB that is.
I'm not so sure about android 2, i know there is also host support in it but don't know any devices so out of my head that support it.

For the iPad there is an USB adapter where you can connect USB drives, they have only limited the size it can access with software so to have full potential you need to jailbreak it.
