I really like the 50mm FOV on 35mm, though on APS-C the 50mm focal length has it's charms. The pentax 43mm f/1.9 special on the Leica M8 APS-H sensor is about 55.9mm so that lens is more or less glued to my M8, on the M9 though I use the Noct/Summilix 50's more often. I don't actually like 28mm on APS-C cameras to my eyes it looks far too wide even though 28mm is the diagonal of the format, I prefer the FA31mm f/1.8 for a "normal" lens on APS-C.

yes you can, I own 178 - I will add the sigma 50mm f/1.4 to my collection soon enough as much as I dislike it's rendering.

In fact "normal" lense is the main problem with APS-C : crop factor but no zoom effect compared to the 35mm.

So a 35mm, is wide enought, but doesn't give the feeling to be "zoom" enought of the subject. So frustrating.

[Off topic] Digitalis, is there any picture of all your gear (if it's even possible to put everything in a single picture...)

Hello romix, just a quote from my daily life to get you thinking. My friends often ask me:

"So, is that camera professional?"

"No, I am"

yes sterretje, I realized this a couple minutes after posting: oooops.

The truth is I stumbled onto this thread in the "similar threads" sections at the bottom of the page, in my own thread. I assumed it was about the same age, or rather I never gave it a thought. Thanks anyways. Oh and by the way, feel free to have a look at my thread here: my thread
