Yes. You must hold the button on the remote to keep the shutter open.

Ahh, so you have to hold it down, but at least you won't get the extra shake from pressing the shutter release. I guess for long exposures in bulb, it pays to pick up a cable release or IR remote for bodies prior to the K-7.

This only applies to IR remotes.
