Is the K20D OEM firmware supporting SDM lenses?

Sorry if this was asked before, but I was not able to find the answer.
For some reason, my friends K20D does work with SDM lenses. He bought it used. Unfortunately I do not know what is the Firmware version in the camera, nor have a picture taken with it. She is away on a trip and want me to find out if just by updating the firmware will do the trick.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, all versions of the K20D firmware support SDM lenses.

If I recall correctly, it was the K10D that did not support SDM lenses until v1.3.

Yeah, the K20D should be fine. The K10D requires newer firmware, but the one I had worked just fine with my SDM lenses when I had it.

No issues with SDM lenses or powerzoom and the K20D with factory firmware. As stated by previous posters, only the K10D needed a firmware update to use the new motorisation.
There should not be any issue with DC lenses as well, they use the same power connection (but I never tried them on my K20D, I do not own such type of lens)

Are you sure it isn't the lens?

According to your sig you have a K20D as well. Does the lens work with it?

Thanks all for your response. She is away and I can't test it in mine. It may be the camera because the lens works in a K10D form her coworker.

Let see what do I find when she gets back.

Does it not work at all, or does it work as a screw driven lens? Peter Zack had a K20 that he fried something inside and it stopped using these lenses as SDM and started using them as screwdriven lenses, but either there is a fault with a camera or the lens. My guess would be the lens.
