I guess that's the bright side of my wife not caring for DSLRs. Congrats on your new camera. I just sold my K-7, and kept my K-r, I will miss it. The ergonomics are a dream on that camera.

Well this is her first DSLR she has used film for so long, That is why I got the Kr so she could find what she likes and didnt like before we went whole hog so to speak plus if she latches on to the K7 that is fine by me, I will get a K5 or K3 or whatever is available when I get back.

Congrat on the K-7. She (the K-7) is a 'lovely girl' with great handling and superbly rugged. I love mine and I do not miss the K-5 because I do not shoot at high-ISO.

You are lucky (as keinafein stated) that you wife is into SLR/dSLR and can share our passion. If you can share the same lenses, it is blessing and will lower any LBA cost...

Welcome to the club, it is a one 'kick-ass' camera for not much money.

Good luck finding a Silver K5 (on a budget). There are some advertised on ebay right now for $1900. This Could be the perfect opportunity though to get a Black K5 for yourself. I'm sure your wife will enjoy her new K7

Well I think she will get more use out of it than I would I have been here about 7 months and could probably take pics of everything there is in a couple weeks so I will keep my eyes open for K5 prices or the next wave of offerings from Pentax just really glad to be back.
