What is your 2 favourate features of your pentax?

As I am discovering my K10, the features I like the best so far are:

being able to choose the ISO and the camera takes care of the rest,
and being able to review the white balance so I can set it for the right lighting.
these features alone make the extra I paid for the k10 over the k100 worth while.

how about yours?

thanks

randy

Extra dial controls, i.e. Metering and focus mode without menus...

The "Raw" button is one.

Digital preview is just quirky enough to be a favorite, but it hasn't attained the status yet. I'll have to think about it.

I must be a true 'fanboy'. The two features I like best about my camera is (1) it is a Pentax, and (2) I can use all my 30-year old lenses from my first film Pentax body.

1. For the DS, Light weight and small size.

2. For the K10, 2 many to narrow it down, but if I have to....
So far it would be Hyper Program/Manual and 2 e-Wheels. ( Subject to change as I discover the wonders of this camera)

3. For all Pentax DSLRs, the ability to use just about every Pentax lens ever made.

On my *ist DL -
1 - The size - it fits my hand just right - I can hold it all day
2 - Auto ISO range - limit where I want, changes if it needs to.
2a - ISO 800 is clean enough to use

1. The K Mount :-)

2. Feels like a real camera.

This applies to ALL Pentax DSLRs.

It's a tough choice. there are so many small but very handy things in K10D: two e-dials, direct controls over exposure, AF modes, switch for MF/AF-C/AF-S, RAW+JPEG, blown highlights blinking, last picture display during WB adjustment...

My favourites are:
1) two e-dials and flexibility in assigning their functions;
2) blinking of blown highlights and too dark shadows.

See, I'm not very happy with that. I guess I might have had too many blinkies on (in all the various modes at one point), but it drove me nuts.

Shake reduction is why I sold my DL for my K100D. The next feature is the ability to use basically any Pentax lens on my camera and have them image-stabilized.

Other things I like:
- AA batteries
- adjustable auto ISO
- digital preview
- quick focus adjust on the new Pentax lenses

2. For K10D, SR and faster AF

High ISO performance and the construction (weather seals, latch accuracy, solid carved-from-stone feel).

1. The ability to take pictures (with Pentax lenses) the way I like without getting in the way.
2. Image quality at any ISO. Perfect for simple or advanced post processing. RAW or JPEG. (DL / K100D).

The final result and the way I can get it is what matters the most to me and I like the Pentax DSLR tradition where they don't try to optimize images in camera after a particular taste (Normal Image Tone) but they are rightfully leaving that part to the photographer.

Otherwise it is just a photographing tool to me. Either the features work for me or they don't and the features I use work as intended. Most Pentax features are very useful apart from the "Bright" image tone of course (bad taste IMO). Entry level or not it does not belong in a DSLR or they should have made it possible to fine tune the values used for the Bright image tone.

On the K10 is the Metering switch and the AFC is on the front switch instead of buried in the menu. There are a number of other things that I think are great as well...but these are my 2 favorites.
