Beach Camera has "readjusted" their price to $629.00 before rebate for the body only. Still a very good deal from a reputable reseller with free shipping. Too bad they're currenly out of the Tamron 18-250 that I want to get along with the body. I may have to get the lens from BH photo video. Also a top-rated reseller. I paid $619 at Buydig a couple of weeks ago (body only). Beachcamera and Buydig are the same company and widely used by many on these fora. I've purchased many times from both with no hassles or problems. I've even returned a purchase with no hassles.

However, there ARE lots of scammers out there. Buydig/Beach is not one of them.

I got mine in a kit from Cameta Camera on Ebay. Got the K10D, 18-55 pentax lens, 70-300 Tamron, 4 gig card, case, battery grip extra battery, card reader, and a little more for about 1200, including shipping, less a $125 rebate. Total about $1075

Is there anyone out there who can help me with the best Australian price for a Pentax K10 D with 1 17 - 125mm lens or 18 -125mm lens.

There was a large ad in the Daily Telegraph Newspaper on Wed Dec 12th advertising this package for $1199 (I think). That is about $200 less than the normally advertised prices for a genuine Authorised Distributor imported.

If someone saw this ad and can tell me who the listed suppliers are I would appreciate it.

I've been doing my homework--buydig seems to be the best right now. Cheaper than ebay, even.

For what its worth I bought my k100d from buydig.com and found their service to be excelent. They sent me what I ordered without trying to add extras, sent me an invoice with an RMA form printed on the back, and practically processed my rebate for me!

AAA coupon codes don't work on their site for "on sale" items such as the K10D kit.

Still, $617 (after rebate) for a kit that was selling for $1K just 2 or 3 months ago doesn't suck, IMHO.

Don't forget to add a Sandisk Extreme III SD card if you want to hit that 3fps jpeg rate. I found the 2GB size on Amazon for ~$35 (from "JoWow"...and experienced fast shipping).

But they through in a Pentax case, extra battery, remote, and 2 GB SD card. Henry's wouldn't mach the deal. That's the best price I could find over here. Henry's has the PENTAX DA 50-200MM F4-5.6 ED LENS for $149.99 so I will probably pick it up.

I guess they will continue to drop a bit more. I spoke with a Pentax rep and she said the new cameras will cost "a lot more" than the current K10D and K100D Super. She said the last of the K10D's is out there and are out of production. Some of that was sales talk I suspect. I think there will be plenty of K10D's available in the stores before the K20D (or whatever it's called) is in the stores sometime in March(?)
