Best SD card for RAW shooting

I know what I use and I know what some say the best cards are. I shoot a K20D and the RAW files are huge, meaning the buffer fills up very fast and it takes forever to write to the card. I'm currently using a Wintec Professional Class 10 16gb SDHC card, which gets the job done quite well. I have friends who swear by the SanDisk Extreme cards. So I was wondering, what do fellow Pentax users shoot with?

I shoot with a few class 10 8gb Trancsend cards. I am happy with them.

Try your buddy's extreme card to compare performance, may be faster.

Extreme cards are good, but "Extreme Pro" cards are the best; fast and a tougher construction.

Agreed with this: of all SD cards I have used, this has been the best for speed and reliability, in the K20D, K7 and K5.

You can test the speed of your card with for instance HDTune. When you have a fast card that gets to 15 MB/s writespeed you probably won't get any extra speed out of you K20D with updating the card. K20D is only running on PRIME I processor. The SanDisk Pro card can give you a lot of extra speed at home uploading to your PC (Invest in USB 3.0 port and cardreader).

I switched from 33mb/s to the 45mb/s Extreme Pro and it's a remarkable difference on my K-x. I shoot auto-bracket JPG+RAW and there's no lag at all. With the old card, I had lag with the 3rd shot even with RAW turned off.

Great card. Amazon.com: SanDisk Extreme Pro 8 GB SDHC Flash Memory Card SDSDXP1-008G: Electronics

When I got my K-5 I found even the Extreme cards were too slow, the same ones that were no problem with my K-x. But with a K-5 having 7FPS & huge RAW files I got frustrated shooting bursts. Extreme Pro card IMHO are almost mandatory for K-5 + Hi-continuous shooting.

The K-5 upgraded body really needs a faster (or an extra) image processing chip.

I shoot with class 10 MICRO SD cards with SD adapter, since I like checking my photos on the field using big screen devices, like with an android tablet or my phone.
But You can't really go wrong with Transcend or Amazon Basics Class 10 SDHC cards.
