I'd agree with nono. My k100d is now my 'm42' camera, and my Kx is for all the kmounts. Do you have a camera for every situ? For eg, one camera is left at work for any emergency work shots, one is at home, and maybe one in the car? *shrug* just a thought.... Or if you have tammies, then use one body specifically for tammy adaptalls?

Sorry, I am a doofus. My wife has two *istDS bodies. I should know that's completely a different beast. Duh.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)

With the Adaptall adapter in place, that's just another K mount lens.

Yup, but I have only one adaptall adapter, and three adaptall lenses.... so if I want to use one lens, and the adapter's on another at home, I'm kind've screwed....

Just wondering, can K100D be a rescue camera for SDM failed lenses? since it does not have SDM, will it focus on those faulty lens using screw focus?

I'd build a little wooden box to fit on one side of my bird table, and put the k100d in it, with a manual 28mm lens on, or similar. Leave it on f8, and run a long USB cable to my kitchen. Then fire up remote assistant and see what I could capture.

If it's the SDM that failed, yes.

I guess I would use it as a screwmount camera (ie leave a m42 adapter on it) and keep the other bodies for K-mount. Unless you already use one of your K-x's that way.

I bought the K100D to use it as a M42 only body but unfortunately my wife confiscated it. So I had to buy a K5 ( ) to free the K10D from its normal duties and promote it to M42 only.

My K100D went on a world tour this year, 4 months worth: Grand World Voyage 2011 Summary | Gerrit and Pat’s Travels. I bought a K5 upon our return, the K100D is now in my wife's hands, who is taking great photos with it.

Highly recommended experience! So many photos that I still have 6 or so ports worth to process.

Gerrit
