LBA: Both DA* SDM lenses! (imgs inside)

Well, I finally did it... I bought both of the DA* zoom lenses, so that I could cut down on the amount of lenses I bring in my back pack travelling.

I've only got pictures from the 50-135, and so far, the lens looks like a serious lens! I had an easy time doing post work, and applied NO SHARPENING to the photos, just the usual tweaking of colours that I always do. The lens is fantastic!

The 16-50 I've only taken two pictures with, as I opened it up 10 minutes ago. Both pictures appear to have serious purple fringing around the Pentax logo I took a picture of, AND the logo is out of focus in both shots. I might take it back, and try another one....

I won't post those photos just yet, as I want to play with it more and see if it was an isolated problem or not.

But, here's some shots I took with the 50-135:

yeah, the wallet still is crying, a little...

Simple solution, sell off all of the Christmas gifts I bought everyone!

Actually, the reality is this... I'm selling off some of my lenses that wouldn't be needed anymore.

I mainly do portraiture or product shots for my fiance. So, do I need the 16-45 if I have this? no. Do I need my Sigma 70-300? No.

I'm even looking at selling my small, 110 Auto mini-SLR from the 70's, that kit I posted a while back. No need for it, realistically...

[loud buzzer sound]

Show host: Our first contestant, FireMate, has given an incorrect answer! [groans from the audience] On to our next contestant; Miserere, the question was "Do I need my Sigma 70-300?", what is your answer?

[studio audience holds their breath]

Miserere: I'm going to say...YES!

Show host: That is correct! And Miserere is our grand prize winner this week!

[the audience cheers]

[screen fades back up]

FireMate: But wait!!!! It's not the APO version of the lens!!!!

Show Host: Oh? No? Judges...?

[audience holds breath]

Show host: well then, looks like you're right! And since you've already got some nice manual prime lenses that do a better job anyways, and can stick with that, looks like you have the correct answer!

[fades to... ummm... red and green, to be festive]
