Stolen Kit

Hey everyone,

My kit was stolen from my workbay at the University of Waterloo. Contents were as follows:

Pentax K200D 3110083
+ attached D-BG3 (serial unknown)
SMC Pentax 55mm f1.8 1286070
SMC Pentax-M 28mm f2.8 6315810
SMC Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 2837568
SMC Pentax-M 135mm f3.5 6714760
Pentax-A 28-80mm f3.5-4.5 6873663
SMC Pentax-DA 18-55mm AL II 6331861
SMC Pentax-DA 50-200mm ED 6390931
Pentax AF-540FGZ 10482
RF-3N radio release

All of this was in an older (~1992) light grey Lowepro Compact 35 bag with bright blue interior. If everyone could keep their eyes peeled, it would be much-appreciated.

This sucks.

But it is a timely reminder to me to note down the serials of my lenses...

Hope you recover your gear intact.

Thanks for the support guys. I'm still having a hard time believing it's really gone. I have a lot of great memories with that camera - it's been a great motivator for getting me out of the door since I got it.

I've updated my original post with the serial for the AF-540FGZ. Pentax Forums' serial database saved my butt on this one! [/shameless plug]

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'll keep a lookout on the usual websites I haunt.

Thats terrible. Similar thing happened to me 2 months ago. Try registering serial numbers with police if you got them. It didn't help me but you never know. Good luck.

That SUCKS! Thieves are the lowest of the low. I hope you get your stuff back soon & it's unharmed when you do. It's also my fervent wish that the perpetrators spend years in the big house getting rogered with gusto on a daily basis by a large man who looks like Bigfoot's ugly twin.

Good luck & happy holidays in spite of the lousy luck,
Bobbo :-)

Sorry to hear this; you should put the serials here: Pentax Serial Number Database - PentaxForums.com

Ouch! Damn thieves! Have you already made a police report and given them all of the serial numbers?

The police were the first to receive my list of serials. Next up were Henry's and Pentax of Canada. There are also security cameras in the building, so I'm hoping maybe John Q. Camerathief missed that detail.

I didn't know that Henry's and Pentax Canada kept a list of stolen equipment?

That's good to know just in case.

Hope it is all returned.

I would send KEH etc, B&H, Adorama, anyone well known here who sells used equipment a list as well in case the person decides to try to go stateside to get rid of your kit. These days with the internet it's far easier to sell anywhere and those are very popular stores and not at all far from you when you think about it.
