Yes they do have a zoom in window.
On my G3, its can be a window in window assist (at 3x magnification) or a x3, x8, x10 magnification on the main window.
I like the window on window method as its easier to use while maintaining composition on the main window.
There is a niffy 3rd method, that is sort of like the 'peaking' method on the NEX, but its more of a 'side effect' of the LCD than an implemented feature.
The outline of most contrast 'shimmers' at the peak of contrast and if the user looks out for that, its an indication of focus (ie. peak contrast).
