Poll: What do we want from Pentax? Full frame? K Mount? Autofocus? etc.

You have 9 votes in this poll, and the 17 options are repeated 3 times so that you can assign more importance than a single vote to an item, or spread your interests across a wider array of items.

This is based on information I've been pulling out of the rumors / FF threads, and the debates on various interests raging in that area. I've attempted to select items with a NPoV. For example, you may have a strong interest in full frame, so you may choose to spend half your votes in FF and super telephoto. You may gave a strong interest in reducing size, so you can place half your votes in discontinuing the K mount and smaller cameras.

After the polls close or interest and debate wane, I will condense the data for easier reading.

I would ask, if you're going to vote only once for an item, please vote for the first instance of that item in the list, so we can consume the data a little easier before the end.

It's probably worth noting that if you want the k mount discontinued from the body, but an adapter made, I suggest you vote on both the Continue and Discontinue portion of the poll together. In the event that is common, I can note it in the results. There isn't really a similar way for those whom believe such an adapter wouldn't work to note it although they will only have to spend one vote, so I believe it will balance out.

A new mount for mirrorless does not necessarily mean discontinuation of the K-mount. Why can't they co-exist?

Gives you the ability to 'weight' your choice - a good idea by Clinton to work with the bounds of this poll to allow weighting.

For example, if you kinda want FF but really want 'continuation of K-mount', if there were only one choice for each it would look like you wanted them the same. This way, you could vote three times for 'continuation of K-mount' and once for 'FF' and your wishes are more accurately represented.

Many believe that Pentax cannot simultaneously support the Q mount, the K mount, the 645 D mount, and another mount. Many will believe that would signal the end of the K mount. Certainly, many will not be interested in buying the same lens twice for two different systems. I say, if you want support for something else and the K mount, vote for both.

DAT AUTOFOCUS.

It's a good thing I read first before voting.

I asked the mods to change the text discontinuation to removal in the poll. I really didn't intend for it to come across as quite so mutually exclusive.

"You have 12 votes." But the poll says 9 votes only. Do I get it wrong? Also, I somehow missed the AF part before submitting...

I maxed my votes for K-mount continuation and uncrippled K-mount. Sprinkled 3 more votes among super-tele, continue optical VF, and improved flash sync speed. It's not that there aren't other tasty items on the menu, but those are my priorities.

I did not understand that I could wote more than one time per each question, that was explaned only later after the woting.
My additional wotes would be to both FF and K-mount.
Sory about my stupidnies.

sheesh, we should be voters for the US congress. we want more and to pay less for it.
Can I vote 6 times for a smaller, lighter camera with FF all for less money, that works better.

You all need to be careful what you ask for, you might get it, with a few political compromises, it will just be a little bigger, a little heavier, have a bigger sensor,
and will kick back a lot but otherwise not work at all and cost twice as much, but it will be biodegradable after storage for a millienium in a lead cask if you have blended it with BS before storage.

, although actually "less expensive" has not been a very popular choice yet. But, no doubt, it's much like politics: keep all the things I want, get rid of the other stuff. Like the "simple DSLR" thread -- everyone has a different idea of "simple".
