One thing that I've found REALLY helps on my K20d in low light is to use the spot beam of my Metz 58. It boosts my keeper rate by 70~80% Of course in a wedding situation it won't do to have a big red grid flashing across the bride's face as she's at the altar, but remember the old photojournalist's motto, "f/8, and be there". I would recommend scouting the location first and taking some measurements, like "ok, it's 30 feet from the altar to the back of the pews, with my 50-135 at the telephoto end at f/8 that gives me about a 5 foot safety net."
But generally speaking, yeah, I agree the accuracy need improvement. Speed would be nice to have, but the lenses only focus so fast anyway. If it would just hunt less, and be a little more discerning, I'd be a happy guy. I think they need to increases the resolution of the AF sensor, and maybe use apochromatic lenses since different wavelengths have different focusing points.
