Fun with PictBridge

I been playing last night with connecting my Pentax *ist DL to an old Canon i560 printer with a PictBridge USB port. I wanted to avoid all the hassle of the photos opening up in some old outdated photo editing program (in my case it was Adobe Photoshop Elements 2). And then saving it to the computer after making whatever changes I could understand to make it print acceptably.

In the past it was often times a time consuming chore. I just want a hard copy print that was all. That is until last night. I wish I had used this PictBridge technology sooner. It makes printing so convenient. It is a LOT quicker.

This begs the question I must ask others on this forum. How many Pentax users use PictBridge? Do you think it is a marvel or an outdated technology? A nice thing to have or just a waste of time? Do you love it or hate it?

For me I love it except I wonder just how long the delicate looking port on the camera will last when connecting the supplied usb cable to it numerous times.

I would love to hear from somebody on this forum regarding this topic.
