Extra Battery for my K10D....

I am looking for an extra battery for my k10D (Lithium-ion D-LI50). The original Pentax costs a lot. I found lots of generic products at a much cheaper price on e-bay.
Can anybody suggest me something?

Thanks in advance and wishing you all a very Happy New Year.............................

I'd suggest the IMPACT version at B&H - it's $19.95:

Impact | DL150 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery | DL150 | B&H

My experience is that it's just as good as the Pentax version, in terms of holding a charge when not in use. Not sure if the people complaining in the reviews got some bad ones in a batch? I've not seen any difference in performance regarding number of shots taken, even in colder weather (16F or -9C). In fact, I own several of them... and they are dependable.

Cheers,
Marc

Amazon.com: NP400 NP-400 equivilant Konica Minolta 1500mAh Li-Ion Battery: Electronics I bought one of these when I ordered my K10 a few weeks ago, less milliamps, but only $8.35, I have the original Pentax in the grip, and this one in the camera, will report back when I can form an opinion about it. If i remember, next time I go out shooting, I'll remove the grip battery, and see how many shots I get out of this one. < kinda curious myself >

I'm also using the Konica-Minolta NP400's mentioned above. They work fine. I got mine from a local (Toronto area) ebayer named "Leica1". Functionally, they're virtually indistinguishable from the Pentax branded ones. Dave

Dave, are yours the actual Minolta batteries? Or the generic NP400s that I linked to? The one I bought is NOT a genuine Minolta, it is a replacement.

When I bought my K10D @ Abes's Of Maine, I bought two extra batteries. The are Tokina's and have been great no problems.

Konica Minolta | NP-400 Lithium-Ion Battery | 8699X001 | B&H

You can get a genuine Minolta NP-400 for $10 at B&H (see above link). I have no idea how old they are, but I have three and they work fine.

So they are safe to use in my K10D?

I purchased a battery off of Ebay and it seems to work fine. If I would have known about the one at B&H, I would have went with it due to B&H being a reputable company.

Minolta NP-400

The original NP-400 for 10 dollars (plus 5 dollars shipping) seems to be a grt deal..............
I hope the Np-400 and the D-LI50 are the same batteries.............

Another vote for the Minolta's....no difference in longevity or charging time between the original. Be aware also that most of the lithium batteries last alot longer after youve charged and depleted them once or twice so it may not seem so at first.

my .02 cents....buy the original pentax...it is a bit more.
I have an impact battery (from b and h), and it's already dead after 1 year..(a little less)
goes out quick once the camera switches to it.....where as the original older pentax batteries still shoot over 300 raw+jpg's w/ constant checks, and menu call ups...(as shot this weekend..and the pentax batteries also shot some xmas, photos too)

gonna pick up the DL-150's soon

Wow
10 bucks for a spare battery?!?
I have the grip but purchased a pentax oem spare battery for it.
At that price, I will buy a couple and see how they perform.
Thanks folks.
