Bought my K200D with only 1800 actuations, hope it will last long because this number increases quite fast^^ I easily fill a 8 Gb SD card on an afternoon trip, this is about 400+ RAW shots, just because I always take 2 to 5 shots of the same subject when I find a nice one, I know I've greater chances to get a perfect shot if I take several shots in a raw. Once, I had a very nice subject that I shot only once and the focus was a bit missed, I felt sad about that... Hopefully I don't go on shooting trip everyday but I've taken ~ 1400 shots in less than 1 month, this would do almost 18.000 shots per year, so I expect this K200D to work fine for a few years.
Anyway I think the way you store and use your camera has a great imact on its MTBF (mean time before failures), If you often drop it on your desk like a bag or intensively use SR and AF, use its WR abilities, let it exposed to heat, use it in very cold zones, etc. Best chances to last long in temperate zones with low % of humidity, using a good bag, avoid changing lenses in dusty environment, clean it once a month, clean your lenses rear side... a bit of periodic simple maintenance can make it last much longer IMO. You also have the luck factor, but this is out of control, maybe a shaman could help
