Trois (3)

Bonjour,

Only three now ... but, had four at one time, just after the K-5 purchase and before selling off the K-7.

Allez & A+, J Frog

I just bought an used Canon 5D since I can't wait no more for Pentax to make one. That makes 8 DSLR bodies that I have to hide from my wife now. Well actually 7 as there is always one at sight, 7 others are hidden somewhere

By the way, I'm selling my K20D, contact me if you're interested.

Thought I'd be OK with 5-6 bodies. But now need 2-3 more for some IR work. Glad I gravitate to the older AA powered Pentaxes. Not much of a hit on the wallet.

At one point I (and Mrs. ElJamoquio) had 2 K5's, 1K-r, and one K200D. Since sold the K-r and K200D.

Always had just one; My first was an Olympus E-520, and I sold it about 9 months ago for my first pentax; a K-x. I love it. Bought an E-PL1 to be a portable, 'take everywhere' camera, but I don't like it that much, and don't find it that compact (K-x is so small already, and much more satisfying to use!). Found a great deal last night on the marketplace for a K-7, probably because of the low K-5 price right now, so I will be selling the E-PL1 once the K-7 arrives

So, I'll have 2 in 3-5 days.

Started with K10D, added K100D as dedicated M42 body. The latter got confiscated by my wife and the K10D was promoted to M42 camera which gave me a reason to buy a K5

Sort of 2... Just bought a *istDS (really really cheap!!) for my boy to learn on to match my K-x.... Hoping to have a K5 (or newer) by Christmas...

Along with my 2 ME's, MX, MG, MZ-7, Auto110 & Honeywell-Spotmatic I'm getting quite a collection of Pentax cameras...

1, the K-5.

Went through K-x, K-r, K-7, and Canon T1i prior to the K-5.

Seven all Pentax for my studio and walk around. Still love my istDS, K-100, two K-10's, K-7 and two K-5's nothing but Pentax has been in my hands since the 1970's. Ask me about my film bodies and you just would not comprehend my lens cabby LBA to the max for 35 years.

They're both fine cameras that have their own strengths.

With the release of the K-01, and even the Q, and the GXR M-mountor, and the impending release of a GXR K-mountor, this thread should be re-titled: HOW MANY DILCs DO YOU OWN? where DILC is of course Digital Interchangeable-Lens Camera. Otherwise we'll be counting APS-C MILCs as 1/2 a dSLR, small-sensor ILCs like Q and m4/3 as 1/4 a dSLR, etc. That's almost as problematic as counting deities. Do angels-demons-etc count as fractional deities? Do MILCs count as fractional dSLRs? Oooh, we need to evolve new theologies.

Then there are transitions. If I replace the fixed lens on a P&S with a C-mount, does it count as an ILC? (That project awaits me at my home base.) If I mount a digital P&S onto a Spotmatic's back so it captures the projected image, have I built a dSLR? (I might try that too.) If the Digital Film concept ever hits reality, do I count all my film SLRs as DSLRs?

OK, under the current definition of dSLR, I have just one, the trusty old K20D. I'm so deprived.

Two + Counting

I've got two DSLR's, the K10D and my new K-7.
Plus several film SLR's and a couple of P + S's, the Canon PowerShot A470 and a Pentax I-10 (which WOULD fit inside a gutted film body and make a nifty digital stealth camera!).
