So does a Samsung DSLR count you as a Pentax user/Pentaxian IF and BECAUSE it's essentialy 99% a Pentax DSLR but with a twist of firmware and shape of body and buttons. My questions is if a Pentax K mout DSLR owneing makes you eligible Pentax user on this site, and anywhere els for that matter.

2 years ago I had a Pentax K200D, a used one, and it allmost died on me (white spots on the shots taken with it) so I replaced it with Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2. The decision of buying M43 was light weight/small size/tilt-swivel LCD/awsome system for manual film lens and of course price . But now I want to go back to Pentax because of low light performance and high price lens investment compare to other systems. I've been trieing to sell it for a half a year now so maybe, with luck, I could buy a Pentax K-7 (dream DSLR), and a colection of Limited lenses.

Well anyone can use PF, even if you don't own a camera at all. With that said, the Samsungs are just clones, so yes. If I were stuck with one of the, though, I'd swap it for a K-5 if not just for the Pentax logo

Welcome to the forum Razz, you can usually find a K-7 for sale in the market.

I would gladly pay for having all the Pentax SLR and DSLR and Lenses ever made, be it manual or automatic, BUT, as usually the case, "no tengo dinero" so if a Samsung GX-20 sells at lower price then Pentax K20D I am going to buy it beeing 99% same quality/ergonimics. I can only but a DSLR if I can sell the Panny G2 and that might take some time. I would really love to have a Pentax K-5 but its out of my reach as price goes. The only thing that really makes my Pentax love all thingly when I think of Pentax K-5 is the awsome ISO performance and thats why Pentax K-7 will suffice for now, if I can afford it if I can sell Panny. Still DOES A SAMSUNG GX-10 / GX-20 make you a Pentax user because if I can only get one of those I want to know if I can join you happy crowed of Pentaxian

I've got a Samsung GX10 that was almost £100 cheaper than the K10 and with the cashback offer Samsung had when i bought it was nearer £200 cheaper so i went with the cheaper body and put the saved money towards a lens, got a K7 now as my main camera but still have the GX10 as back up

I like the interface of my GX-10 better than the K-10's, but my K-5 is a better body for sure.
