I have a K-5 and keep my K-x for exactly this reason. It's a backup camera for me and a camera I let my 9 y.o. son use (under supervision) to learn photography.

How do you find the transition from the K-5 back to the K-x?

No problem, but I took 25,000+ pics on the K-x so even though the controls are different, it comes back to me fast. Biggest problem with K-x after using K-5 is no TAv mode and it choosing too slow shutter speeds in Av, or too wide of aperture in Tv. IQ can't be faulted though.

Glad I asked the question. I spend a lot of time in TAv mode! That might change as my experience with the camera grows, but I find that mode really useful for taking "snapshots" at events where I know that the image will only be used for low-res applications, and it is more important that I catch the moment than that I stick to a low ISO.

I'd like auto ISO option in manual mode on the K-x (effectively TAv without EV comp). I'd like a 2sec delay + bracket drive mode option too. Either could easily be implemented but it just ain't gonna happen.

The K-7 is a good backup option too if you feel TAv is more important than ISO800+ IQ.
