KX problems after it was dropped

Hi,

My daughter has the Pentax KX. She dropped it and now it has a couple problems. With new batteries the indicator shows
battery is empty. Flash won't pop up. I need to know what the best (fastest) route is get this repaired. My daughter goes on
a big trip in less than a month and I need this fixed ASAP.

Is Pentax the only way to go for repairs or are there some good 2nd or 3rd party authorized repair shops that can turn this around
reliably? Obviously needs to be a solid repair with trustworthy and knoweledgeable technicians.

PLEASE HELP!!

We dont even know what country your in lol
Personly I would just google camera repairs in your area though !
Over here in the UK I have found most of the photographic shops will send for repair for you. However... since you are in a rush I would try the first option.

depending on the damage your cheapest and fastest bet could be to buy a used k-x for ~$300

if the sensor is damaged it could cost more than that just for the part

Call up Pentax service in Colorado, maybe they can expedite, won`t hurt to ask. As far as is it worth repairing, might not be.
