K100d - dust on sensor

I've only had my K100D a year - bought it as ex demo model and now find it has dust on the sensor and am wondering how best to clean it myself. So many different methods, products and recommendations - it's all very confusing.

I propose to use some isopropyl alcohol and some lint free swabs. I do not intend to use a blowers or any other dry method. What do other members think?

Hi
3 Cameras in 4 years never needed anything more than a blower bulb, never had to touch the sensor
to clean it.
Every battery change just a little puff and thats it.

The K100D sensor is a little stickier with dust than the newer model cameras, but your best first effort is a good rocket blower. Then the wet or dry method if you're well versed with the techniques, then ultimately a professional clean.

With K100D, you need to invest in a rocket blower at the minimum and having a wet-cleaning kit on hand would not hurt either.
My K100D was a dust magnet.

Don't do anything rash. I definitely wouldn't use rubbing alcohol. It will probably leave streaks. Check this out:

It's how I do it. It's cheap, safe, and very easy.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)
