Problem with SDHC...

Shooting quite more in RAW with the K10D than before, I bought some SDHC Sandisk 4GB cards.

These cards work well, as any other ultraII, in the K10D as well as the K100D (once the SDHC firmware has been loaded into the K100D).

The problems are starting once I tried to read out these cards on a PC. On an older WinXP PC, WinXP did not even recognize I inserted an card into the built-in card reader. I though it was because the builtin reader was too old, so I tried the same on a brand new laptop. Same result here, no reaction when inserting a card.

Thankfully, Sandisk ships these SDHC cards with a tiny USB reader. With this reader, no problem in accessing the cards from WinXP.

Finally, I also checked if my Jobo GigaOne supports the SDHC cards. Same problem here, The GigaOne does not see any inserted SDHC card. I checked out the website of Jobo for any word about SDHC or any firmware update for the GigaOne, no result. Finally I have sent a support inquire to jobo, no response yet. I keep you informed...

The SD reader built into my two year old laptop does not support various 2GB SD cards. Updating the SD reader drivers (TI chipset) did not help.
The issue is with the card reader, and not SD memory.

I have no problem with 2GB SD cards, it is just the SDHC cards (or probably any FAT32 SD card) which are neither recognized with the builtin readers of PCs/Laptops nor the Jobo GigaOne drive.

I was just going to mention that. The new SDHC cards are organized using fat 32, and are imcompatible with the old card readers of any kind. You need a new SDHC reader to recognise them.

I already got the answer from the Jobo support:

"The SDHC is a brand new Secure Digital format and is not yet supported
by most existing devices. We do however have an adapter - the JOBO 17in1
CF adapter. This adapter would allow your Giga One to support your
SDHC cards. You'd just put the adapter in the
Compact Flash slot of your Giga One unit, then slide your SDHC card into the
