I hope I'll be forgiven for doing it this way, but I decided that my take on the Katz Eye screen was worth blogging a little about, so that's what I did. Here's the link:
Ulysses at Large
There is a link there to a few test photos that I took this afternoon. The tests were not elaborate or scientific, but you'll be able to see the results for yourself.
As I say in the article, I'm quite happy with the Katz Eye. Since I have moved the one I got out of the *ist DS and into my K10D, I'm thinking now of buying one for the *ist DS. I do more manual focusing with that camera any way.
A caveat, for those who have been wondering whether to buy the Katz Eye screen themselves. I really cannot guarantee that anybody else will like it. I like it. But it's $100 and it's not like getting a new camera or anything.
Thanks again to all those who already owned the Katz Eye and whose info was so helpful to me as I was making my own decision.
