Pentax and Video Mode

Is there any chance of a hack like the Magic Lantern to come to Pentax? I really like my K-x but the video mode lets it down a lot I feel because of the lack of manual control. Especially since it sticks to 1/24 shutter speed in lower light. I've seen some of the workarounds but there not that helpful in Low light conditions.

Also was thinking, would it be wise for Pentax to be the first to introduce video mode in the Medium Format?

Yes there is, the firmware is decode and it's possible to write custom firmware for it but if someone will do it?

And you're stuck with 1/24 sec because you need 24 frames a second, you can't do that with slower speed.

Get a k-01 if you want good video Regarding the MF idea- the 645d uses a CCD, so it wouldn't be feasible at the moment. You wouldn't benefit much from it, either, as a FF sensor is plenty big for video, even at 4k resolution.

If you look in the K-01 cult video thread you see that most video shooters don't agree with you, it's great it has finally manual control but it is lacking and is even worse in other aspects compared to the K5.

About CCD, those are also use in video cameras, they are often even preferred because they use a global shutter instead of a rolling shutter used with CMOS.
No idea where it comes from that CCD can't do video?

1/48 would be a lot better I think. And I believe once the ISO hits 1600 it will start to underexpose :/

Also I was thinking the 645D could be the first Digital replacement for 65/70mm film

I was thinking you want a longer shutter speed.
ISO 1600 is the native of the sensor so it might do ISO3200 but that would be software.

I thought 'software' was only the extended ISO? :S So isn't up to 6400 still native?

From the tests that for example are done at DxO it's quite safe to conclude that everything above ISO1600 is thouched by the software.
