So I sold my last APS-C only lens and now have a nice set of lenses ready to use on that imaginairy 24 megapixel Full Frame (K-1 or LX-D) camera. With FA31mm, DA40mmLtd, DA*55mm, FA*85mm, DA*300mm and Sigma 70-200mm I'm FF compatible all the way. How about you?

I'd have to keep my K-5 or get a new Sigma 10-20 and drop the Pentax 18-55WR but both my Tamrons (28-300, 28-70 f2.8) are FF compatible as is my little 50mm f1.4 along with a bunch of older lenses.

Anyway, wouldn't both my APS-c lenses work anyway & I'd just have to be careful with composition?

Well they probably work just fine wih reduced sensorsize, but we all buy that expensive FF camera to use the whole sensor and not just part of it (for wich we can keep a spare K-5 in our bag).

For myself, I don't have any real wide-angle, since 31mm on FF is just moderate wide-angle, but I also don't use such lenses. It's all about your own needs.

If someone would only want a FF camera for portraits then basicly you are ready with a good portraitlens.

I'm ready! F28,F50 1.7, F50 macro, F100 macro, F135, and a FA50 1.4 that I got brand new for less than a DA35 2.4 sells for used. In reality the hopes of a FF is the only reason I have kept the FA 50. I love the rendering of my F135 but I don't use it as much as I would like because of the focal length, but that would totally change should Pentax release a FF! Come to think of it the only lens I own beside the kit lens that is not FF compatible is my DA10-17.

I'll be very surprised if the dream FF camera body fails to adequately adapt via some sort of firmware/software tricks to ALL (Yes, Q and other) Pen-Ric-tax mount lenses. I can imagine in addition to FF, an APS-c crop and others (1:1, 2:4, etc.) that overlays the sensor and enables a format change when the camera senses a branded lens mounted on the body. Even if the camera was brilliant, an FF camera that uses lenses only physically built for it is so 90's and would be a first-class 2012-ish marketing flop.

...IMHO.

A quick look in my photo bag (what I usually carry) yields this:

Tokina AT-X 90mm f/2.5
Voigtländer 58mm f/1.4
The three Pentax FA Limiteds

and the DA * 60-250 f/4.

Now, the last one doesn't cover full frame well, at least not by my testing. So I may have to switch it for the A 645 200mm f/4 or the tele-tak 200mm f/3.5 adapted. I'll say I'm ready.

Like many others, I've been building a versatile array of lenses that work well with both APS-C and 35mm sized sensors. My FA*24/2 and 80-200/2.8 are accompanied by the three FA Limiteds, an F*300/4.5, an FA20/2.8, a Sigma 105/2.8 macro and a variety of M42 and other film-era K-mount lenses. What would be nice, though, would be in-camera switching so that the DA lenses work seamlessly with a new 35mm body - I don't fancy having to crop in PP, though I guess that wouldn't be too great an impost with Adobe Bridge or the like, but framing through the viewfinder would be a pain, otherwise.

I should mention my Voigtlander 58/1.4 and my A50/1.2 would probably get more exercise, too.

I've been ready since the MZ-D was canceled. I've never gotten rid of my FF glass.

When the FF comes, I will let out a sigh of relief...and say...it's about F'kn time.

I looked hard at the DA*60-250 before I bought the FA*80-200, but I went with the extra stop (and weight) rather than reach at both ends, partly because of the potential for a Pentax 35mm DSLR at some point - that was two years ago, mind you!

I'm not sure I would make the step right away since I think I would need to add a few lenses. Swap the DA40 for an FA43. I would look for a better wide (K/M 20mm) and probably the FA77 (or K/M 85mm) since I like the APSC 50mm FOV. I would also definitely need the DA*300. That pushes the price up past $5000 easily and that isn't happening this year.

Most of them will vignette really badly. At that point you might as well stick with an APSC camera. There was a lot of research done on this and each lens was rated on FF compatibility.
