Help I dropped my camera and lens

The story is painful but lets just say my K5 and DA*300 fell of the top of my Mazda 3 it landed on the lcd screen and my screen protector broke and the lens hood cracked. other then that and some scratches it seemed fine but now I am thinking it may not be as sharp but I am not sure if its just me or if really is. I see Pentax has a place in Mississauga. My question is can I take my lens and camera to them to check it out and fix it if need be?

For sure, just give them a call and drop in. I think their minimum charge if you don't have the repair done is $25.

Don't feel bad, I drove away from my garage one day and heard a 'thump'. I stopped, reversed back and heard a 'crunch'. When I got and looked the back wheel of my old Range Rover was on top of the camera bag. It was Canon stuff.....

I feel your pain !

We dropped a K-x, there was no external damage, but it was going to be $400 to fix it. We bought a used white K-x with another 18-55 on it for about $425. After all, you can never have too many DA 18-55s.

Sorry to hear about your gear. If you have a homeowner's insurance policy, it might be covered. I picked up a personal articles policy from State Farm here in the States for some of my stuff. $50 a year and they cover dropping it in the ocean, theft, fire, etc. Not bad for some peace of mind.
